We're building a distribution of GNU/Linux based on the popular Debian distribution, but only including free software. We'll also be making some choices to make installation and support a little easier.
Skeleton GNU/Linux will install with the GNOME desktop and the GNU Emacs editor. Inkscape, Blender and GIMP will be preinstalled too, alongside systemd and the latest Linux kernel available in Debian.

We're interested in your feedback in our plan. Our distribution is intended to be recommended by the Free Software Foundation, and we won't be releasing a public installation image until we achieve that goal.
